Ear Wax And Syringing
Posted on 11 Dec 2018
Unfortunately GP practices are not funded for routine ear syringing, and we are therefore no longer able to provide this service. However we will still offer clearance of ear wax if requested by a hospital or by action for deafness.
We suggest that any patients with uncomplicated ear wax use olive oil or similar drops obtainable from the pharmacies for at least two or three weeks, or an over the counter dewaxing agent such as otex. Alternatively, please ask at reception for a list of local private providers.
We apologise for any inconvenience that the withdrawal of this may cause however lack of funding and workload pressures have made this necessary.
