Posted on 25 Apr 2018
Ship Street are pleased to announce that Mid Sussex Wellbeing Advisors will be available to see patients on Thursdays at the surgery from May 2018
Mid Sussex Wellbeing Advisors help people to make small changes to their lifestyle. Book in for a free one-to-one appointment or Wellbeing MOT to discuss any healthy lifestyle changes you would like to make and signpost you to appropriate support. They can also attend groups and talks to offer information and advice. The Wellbeing Advisors use body analyser scales to measure weight, BMI and body fat percentage as well as your hydration levels.
Mid Sussex Wellbeing Advisers can support individuals to make small changes including losing weight, getting more active, reducing alcohol and thinking about stopping smoking. The service is completely free. We can offer one-to-one sessions which will consist of looking at what you would like to change, for example losing weight or reducing alcohol intake, and then work with the adviser to identify small steps that the individual can make to facilitate change. You will be offered a Wellbeing MOT to help you focus on the changes you want to make.
At a Wellbeing MOT you will be asked to step on our state of the art scales, which gives not only the usual weight measurements but will also calculate your muscle mass, bone mass, hydration levels and give you a 'metabolic age', that is, how old your body thinks it is. You will have the chance to talk through your results, confidentially, with a Wellbeing adviser and decide on any steps you might want to take to help improve your health and lifestyle.
